We stand between seniors and danger, acting fast to make sure safety, dignity, and care are never left behind.
Protect means stepping in when there are signs of danger—like neglect, abuse, fraud, or unsafe living conditions. It begins with recognizing the warning signs, continues with taking action, and succeeds when the right help arrives in time to keep a senior safe. Protection can be as urgent as reporting mistreatment, relocating someone to safety, or making sure a trusted person is involved before harm gets worse.
For seniors, protection means not being left alone when something is wrong. It means someone is watching out for your safety, listening when you speak up, and making sure problems are not ignored. Protection can be simple—like noticing a bruise, a sudden fear of a caregiver, or a financial mistake—that, if acted on quickly, helps prevent greater harm and restores your sense of security.
Our Protect Team steps in when a senior’s safety is at risk. Through swift action, trusted reporting, and standing firm when something is wrong, the team makes sure no senior is left to face danger alone. Made up of Senior Advocates and Certified Ombudsmen, the team responds to abuse, neglect, fraud, and unsafe living conditions, providing real protection wherever seniors live—at home, in a facility, in a shelter, or while visiting a medical setting.
Here is a breakdown of 2 (two) key members of our Protect Team:
When a senior is in immediate danger, a Seniors Advocate steps in to act quickly and effectively. Advocates are the senior’s voice when they cannot protect themselves, ensuring their rights and safety are prioritized. They listen, assess the situation, and make sure seniors are not dismissed or isolated. Seniors Advocates work directly with families, caregivers, and law enforcement to remove seniors from danger and secure safer living conditions. No matter where a senior lives, the Advocate ensures their well-being is safeguarded:

We have two types of Ombudsmen, each focused on different locations but united by the same goal: protecting seniors from mistreatment.
Ombudsman (pronounced "om-budz-man") is a neutral, independent advocate who works to protect seniors' rights and safety. They act as a go-between for seniors and care providers, making sure concerns are addressed and the senior’s voice is heard. Ombudsmen investigate complaints, identify unsafe conditions, and report issues to the appropriate authorities to ensure seniors are treated fairly and safely. They don’t take sides but ensure that any mistreatment, neglect, or unsafe conditions are corrected and that seniors are properly cared for.
Certified Ombudsmen:
We investigate concerns within licensed care facilities.
Investigative Ombudsmen
We work in other settings like private homes, shelters, and public places.

If no one is watching or willing to speak up, mistreatment can go unnoticed. Seniors may be left in unsafe situations, too afraid or unable to ask for help. Without protection, seniors may suffer in silence—hurt physically, emotionally, or financially, sometimes by the very people trusted to care for them. A missing Protect Team is not just a gap in services—it is a risk no senior should have to face.
We are not just here to help after something goes wrong—we are here to protect seniors from the moment danger appears.
At the heart of our work is one belief: every senior deserves to live without fear, mistreatment, or neglect. That is why our Protect Team acts fast, stands strong, and works hard to make sure no senior faces danger at the hands of any person, place or thing.
If there are warning signs or if extra protection is needed for yourself, a loved one, or a senior you know, membership brings trusted support immediately without delays.
If neglect is found, we do not just report it—we take action to stop it, making sure the senior is protected and their needs are met.
Neglect means a senior’s basic needs are not being met—such as food, hygiene, medicine, safety, or medical care. It can happen when someone else fails to help, or when a senior is unable or unwilling to care for themselves and no one steps in. Neglect is not always intentional, but it is always dangerous.
Neglect can happen whether a senior is living at home, in a care facility, visiting a medical center, or staying in a shelter—any place where support is needed but not given.
If you, a loved one or a senior you know is facing neglect, we do not wait—we act. Our Protect Team moves quickly to identify risks, remove seniors from harm, and ensure their needs are met. With membership, get immediate access to a team taking the right steps, from investigation to resolution, ensuring seniors are properly protected.
We step in fast to keep seniors safe, stop the harm, and fight to hold responsible parties accountable.
Abuse means someone is causing harm to a senior—through physical force, threats, emotional cruelty, sexual mistreatment, or controlling behavior. Abuse may happen once or over time, and it can come from a caregiver, family member, staff, or even another resident. No matter who is responsible, abuse is never justified.
It may look like hitting, yelling, isolating, overmedicating, or making a senior feel afraid, ashamed, or helpless. Abuse can happen at home, in a care facility, during hospital visits, or in any setting where a senior is vulnerable.
When abuse is suspected against you, a loved one or a senior you know, we do not wait. Our Protect Team steps in to ensure the senior is safe, stops the abuse, and works to prevent it from happening again. With membership, seniors get fast, direct help to address the situation.

We act swiftly to protect seniors from financial harm, investigating the situation and working to secure or restore their resources and rights.
Fraud is the use of lies, tricks, or pressure to take a senior’s money, property, or personal information. It includes scams, stolen funds, forged checks, fake charities, and abuse of legal documents like a Power of Attorney. Fraud does not always involve strangers—sometimes it is a trusted caregiver, friend, or even a family member.
It may look like hitting, yelling, isolating, overmedicating, or making a senior feel afraid, ashamed, or helpless. Abuse can happen at home, in a care facility, during hospital visits, or in any setting where a senior is vulnerable.
Fraud can take away a senior’s hard-earned money. Our Protect Team acts quickly to investigate, stop the fraud, and protect their finances and property. With membership, seniors get fast support to ensure their money and other valuables are safe and secure.
Speak up—we’re here to listen, investigate, and ensure the senior receives the protection and care they deserve.
Mistreatment is any action—or failure to act—causing harm, fear, or distress to a senior. It includes physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, abandonment, and even intimidation or threats. Mistreatment can happen anywhere: in a senior’s home, a care facility, medical center, shelter, or public place.
When mistreatment happens at home, it can be harder to see—but just as harmful. Whether it is physical abuse, emotional harm, neglect, or financial exploitation, no senior should have to endure it in silence.
Who is responsible: Family members, neighbors, caregivers, friends, and medical professionals all share a responsibility to speak up. Those closest to the senior are often the first to notice something is wrong and the first line of protection. Mandated reporters like nurses, doctors, and social workers are legally required to report suspected abuse or neglect.
What is the impact: When mistreatment is not reported, the senior may stay in a harmful environment, becoming more isolated, fearful, or dependent. Their physical health can decline, emotional well-being can suffer, and trust in others can be lost. But when someone reports it—when even one person takes a stand—the senior gets a chance to be heard, helped, and protected. Reporting opens the door to safety, services, and a better quality of life.
Seniors in long-term care, assisted living, or rehabilitation facilities rely on others for safety, comfort, and daily care. When mistreatment occurs, whether it is rough handling, emotional cruelty, neglect, or financial abuse—it must be reported without delay.
Who is responsible: Family members, visiting friends, staff members, outside advocates, and certified ombudsmen all play a role. Anyone who observes, hears about, or suspects mistreatment has a duty to report it. Facility leadership and state oversight agencies are also responsible for investigating and correcting issues.
What is the impact: When mistreatment goes unreported, the senior may continue to suffer silently. Their physical condition may worsen, and they may feel abandoned or fearful. Left unchecked, even small concerns can grow into dangerous patterns. But when someone speaks up, action can be taken. Reporting gives the senior a voice, restores dignity, and leads to care that is safer, kinder, and more respectful of their rights.
Mistreatment can cause real harm, often leaving invisible scars lasting long after the incident. Our Protect Team moves quickly to investigate, report the issue, and take action to protect the senior. With membership, seniors get the support needed to report mistreatment and make sure the right steps are taken to ensure their safety and well-being, no matter where they live or visit.
